Brandveiligheid staat bij woningcorporaties hoog op de agenda. Senioren wonen langer zelfstandig thuis. Vluchten bij brand wordt een steeds grotere uitdaging vanwege verminderde vitaliteit, grotere afhankelijkheid van rollators of scootmobielen en soms beginnende dementie. ‘Daarom hebben we deze challenge als woningcorporaties gezamenlijk opgezet. We zijn enthousiast over de inzendingen en zien ook echt potentie in de winnende innovaties. ‘LeefSamen’ is unaniem als winnende innovatie gekozen. Met name de inzet van het sociale netwerk van senioren en de buurt in het geval zich brand voordoet, gaf de doorslag,’ aldus Woonzorg Nederland, Habion en Wooncompagnie.
Anne van Grinsven vult aan: ‘Niet alleen brandveiligheid is belangrijk, het begint bij brandpreventie en bij bewustwording wat je als bewoner zelf kunt doen als het gaat om deze thema’s. Omdat Woonzorg Nederland gespecialiseerd is in seniorenhuisvesting heeft dit ons volle aandacht. Zo hebben wij in alle zelfstandige woningen twee gekoppelde rookmelders geplaatst. Organiseren we in samenwerking met de veiligheidsregio’s of lokale Brandweer informatieavonden over brandveiligheid en –preventie. En is als pilot een Bewoners Hulp Verlening opgestart in een complex.’
PRICES
De jury beloonde nog drie innovaties met financiële middelen om pilots op te starten. Zo is € 7.500 beschikbaar voor het plaatsen van lichtgevende rozetten om deurklinken, zodat de vluchtweg zichtbaar is. Een innovatie van Ooijevaars Bevlogen Bouwers. Kan de start-up ‘Slimme kookwekker’ met € 7.000 bij ouderen hun prototype van een slimme kookwekker met een warmte en bewegingssensor verder testen. En worden studenten van de VU, UvA en TU Delft met € 2.500,– aangemoedigd om hun Flame Away’ wegwerpbrandblusser van een geschikt design te voorzien en uit te testen bij ouderen.

Why this challenge

AWARDS
The jury awarded three more innovations with financial resources to start up pilots.
